Stopping On Your Commute Home Is Very Important
This breaks a very long drive into two smaller parts. Even better if the reason you are stopping is something you find enjoyable like playing Guitar Hero at the Best Buy or bothering your friends. On my way north on Alvarado between Wilshire and Temple, you know it's all hilly in there? Over the top of one rise I see this beautiful white geyser poking out above the crest of the road. I was proud of myself because I remember my very first thought was "Good." And then I thought "This Is Good. I Am Going In That Direction." Someone had had the Hard Driving Skills to swerve and shear off a fire hydrant on the corner at the bottom of the hill. The valley between the hills had flooded to between six inches and two feet deep in fresh LA Tap Water. The rightmost lane was just about to turn back to parking so I idled along with some other drivers and just watched The Most Beautiful Thing In Los Angeles At About Five To Seven PM. It took about a minute of watching the water spray a hundred feet up and the firemen hacking through the street to get to the main to shut it off and it was a foregone conclusion. I took my cell out of my pocket and put it on the seat. I took my notebook out of my pocket and put it on the seat. I closed my door and crossed the street through the stopped traffic and walked through the geyser to the other side. On my way through I was looking for the source but it was real hard to see anything. And it was right next to me. Looking like four or five fire hoses blasting out of a hole in the ground! I got to the other side and hung out with some kids playing in the lake. And then I decided it was time to go so I walked back through the falling water. I don't know what happened to me but I got so excited with how much water was falling around me I started to C-Walk through till I got yelled at by a fireman on the other side. The water got shut off as I was pulling out into traffic. I got in my truck and drove home.
